CES Sands Level Two (part one)

Just above Eureka Park, on the second floor of the Sands Expo Center is some of the coolest stuff in home automation, biotech, and IoT tech.  It’s also the home to the Innovation Award Showcase.  Take a walk with me...and geek out.

I just HAD to take a picture of IBMs Quantum Computer.  Hopefully we’ll be using these for desktop computers soon. :).

I am just going to show a few pics here of items I thought were pretty innovative. You can read the plates and find out what they do. Most are not restaurant or hospitality focused, but comment of you feel like there might be an application in your world.

Pretty cool.  I saw a demo of this and the woman used hand gestures to determine precisely where reading should start. It also could identify people that walked up as man or woman.  Bright future here for blind or partially blind.

We all could certainly use this after eating in many of our restaurants.  I have a standing desk and I think this would be a great addition.  You can get it without the built in top.

I had to put this one in here after the chip hack last week.  Good to see they're working on new chips.  The chip manufacturers didn't have an area dedicated to Meltdown, weird.

On to the big space down the hall to many more miles of booths. Inoxia has a cool way of tracking your delivery fleet with a tiny device that has a battery that lasts up to eight months.

Why the heck would I want to carry around a cell phone in the future? That’s so 2017.  I would rather just use my pinky and thumb.

Are you kidding me?  This will definitely make you popular with the ladies.  Reminds me of this:

The quote says "Rule #1 Ditch the headset.  He can barely pull it off and you're not him"

On that note....  see you in a bit.  - Joe
